History

Intex Systems had its beginning in the earlier 70's, under the name of A.H. Electronics with the introduction of the Differentiating Probe (the forerunner of today's high-tech Cache Probe). This all-metal coin probe was transformed into a newer model, a discriminating coin probe. From this concept, the patented A.H. Pro metal discriminating metal detector was born - the first "true" discriminator in the treasure hunting industry. This started a new revolution of products and competitive discriminating locators, as well, which continues to expand today.

The A.H. Electronics product line included:

Differentiating Probes (first electronic ground penetrating coin probes . . . 1972)

Pro (Patented, first true discriminating metal detector to reject foil and pull tabs)

Mini-Pro (Compact version of the Pro, smaller case, no meter)

Super Pro (first metal detector to reject screw caps and offer ground balance)

Super Pro-V (enhancements to the Super model)

Backpacker series (first compact multi-section telescoping metal detector)

MicroPro (Sleek version of the Differentiating Probe with an audio speaker)

Pro-2 series (expansion of the Pro model search head options)

Pioneer series (low cost discriminator)

Nugget (Body mount, deep search probe for gold prospecting)

Quintron series (Patented, first no-motion ground attenuating discriminator)

Phantom (Quintron features with manual adjusted ground balance., plus other features)

A.H. Electronics expanded into the industrial markets and in the process, phased out the consumer metal detectors. I regret this outcome and soon missed the people, fellow Th'ers, treasure hunting stories, club hunts and all of the related excitement. I vowed to return to this wonderful hobby industry, when deemed possible.

In the interim, we set up a Service Center for customers of our A.H. Pro line of metal detectors which is still active today. It feels good to see these detectors still in operation today and being bought and sold over the internet as used metal detectors.

Intex Systems was created. New design and development included magnetic sensors, fluxgate magnetometers and other related products.

Intex Systems introduced the Cache Probe, model cp100 pinpointer in 2002 and new models were added over the years with the cp200 and now cp250.
